Ecuadorian and Irish
I am a little lighter and look a little different than my mom’s side of the family. Even though I am part Irish, I understand Spanish and can speak it too. I watch novela’s with my grandmother (mami) and help her make empanadas, chicharron, and so many other Ecuadorian dishes! I love our traditions, our food, our music, our language. I love that I am a mixture of Ecuadorian and Irish. I love that I am being Raised by Latinos. .

Not only are there cultural characteristics from these regions that resonate directly with my Italian heritage (i.e. the importance placed on family, shared meals, the influences of Catholicism in iconography and language etc.), but there are histories of Italian migration throughout the Americas. Perhaps most importantly though, the social bodies from the Latin American and Caribbean regions appeared to be embracing pluralism; dancing between the gaps of binary oppositions historically imposed upon them by Western notions of knowledge and modernity.

Grew up in Venice California up until 14 then because of the trouble I was getting into and other family issues we moved in with my grandma in San Bernardino. I went to Pacific high for about a year and some change until I got kicked out.

I was raised by a single mother and I grew up in the Jane & Finch area. With an absent father, my mother worked hard to provide for me, teaching me values and teaching me to never give up and to keep striving, keep pushing. I went to Brazil to play in the 2nd division professional team and also got a soccer scholarship to play in the US (Chicago). I am now a Sheridan College student taking Media Arts and Communication. Currently, I am working to build my own brand as a motivational U Tube influencer with 1000 subscribers and growing
