KingPen Art
Chicano stories drawn in blue ballpoint. One pen, one stroke at a time.
The story
Everything with one blue pen
KingPen Art is a self-taught Chicano artist whose work comes to life through the intricate strokes of a blue ballpoint pen. He channels his heritage, his life experiences, and his artistic vision into every piece — transforming blank paper into powerful drawings that explore identity, struggle, resilience, love, and hope. Every work is more than a drawing. It is a story preserved in ink.
Inspired by Chicano culture, family, and the enduring human spirit, he proves that extraordinary art can come from the simplest of tools — a Bic pen. Self-taught, he refined his craft through dedication, perseverance, and countless hours of practice.
His mission is not only to create meaningful artwork, but to showcase the evolution of prison art — challenging outdated perceptions by revealing the exceptional skill, creativity, and emotion that can flourish under the most difficult circumstances. KingPen continues to create from behind prison walls.
KingPen Art is a collection of Lolis Co., a small family-owned business proudly owned and operated by his wife. She is the bridge between his art and the world — preserving his vision, sharing his story, and making sure every piece reaches those who understand what it means. Together they show that love, faith, and determination can outlast almost anything.
“Art speaks where words are unable to explain.”
